I provide multicultural counseling for children, adolescents, young adults, adults, students, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I work with clients who seek counseling for a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues, trauma, grief and loss. I strive to create a trusting and respectful environment with my clients, and work alongside you to build upon strengths and develop tools to enhance your life.

Together we identify barriers to your happiness and create a plan to solve and overcome issues. Theoretical orientations I adhere to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Narrative Therapy. I work from the DBT assumptions that people are doing the best they can, people want to improve, and that people may not have caused all of their problems, but they need to find a way to solve them anyways. Each person is unique, and I work with you to determine the best tools and techniques for you.

While I believe personal history is important to understand the reasons for current behavior, during counseling the primary focus is on the present, with an emphasis on thoughts and behaviors under our control. Past experiences are explored only as they impact our current narrative, behaviors, and feelings.
